Congratulations to Environment Studies and Geography major Austen Hilding (’16) for being awarded a summer research experience for undergraduates (REU), funded by the National Science Foundation, at the University of Idaho’s Department of Biological Sciences. This summer Austen will be studying community assembly and disassembly on “islands” of habitat, such as mountain peaks or forest fragments, with a focus on insect and plant species.
