Mark Apfelbacher, ’04 geography and environmental studies major, and Anna Claussen, ’04 geography and studio art major, came to Gustavus on December 1st to give a talk on landscape architecture.

Both Mark and Anna attended the University of Minnesota’s program in landscape architecture and both are members of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Mark talked about his work on green infrastructure projects such as green roofs and solar power installations. Mark is part owner of Sustology, a consulting firm specializing in sustainability projects for a wide variety of clients. Anna is a landscape architect at Hoisington Koegler Group, a Minneapolis consulting firm. She talked about urban design projects, trail designs, and parks planning for clients such as the cities of Saint Paul, Northfield, and Red Wing, Minnesota.
